STARTING AID
Warning
This device is only intended for use with 12-volt systems!
Lead-acid batteries can release explosive gases. Non-observance of instructions can cause damage to property,
explosion hazard and/or personal injury. Do not smoke during jump starting. Give a vehicle or boat a jump start
in a well-ventilated area. Do not attempt to jump start a frozen battery. This product is not intended for use in
rain or temperatures above 50°C. Do not allow the jump leads or other connected devices to get wet. Do not
wear vinyl clothing, as friction can cause static electricity and generate electric sparks. Remove all metal, jewelry
to avoid short circuits. Always use safety glasses when operating the battery. Keep the battery terminals clean
and ensure that corrosion does not come into contact with the eyes - acid can cause blindness and/or severe
burns. Never allow red and black terminals to touch or be connected to the same piece of metal - this can cause
short circuits, power arcing and/or explosion. Ensure that someone is available to provide assistance if necessary.
Keep out of reach of children.
OPERATION
WARNING: If the engine does not start after three attempts, cancel the starting aid procedure.
Excessive starting of the engine can damage the car's starter motor. Look for other problems that may need
correction or professional help.
1. Be aware of the safety precautions as previously mentioned.
2. Put the car in "park position" and make sure that the brake is applied and no gear is engaged.
3. Turn off the vehicle's ignition and accessories (e.g. radios, lights, air conditioning) and disconnect all devices
such as GPS and mobile phones or tablets from the power supply.
4. Turn off all switches on the unit and disconnect all accessories.
5. Determine the polarity of the vehicle's battery terminals. If you are unsure, you should consult the vehicle
owner's manual.
6. determine the floor system of your vehicle.
If the vehicle to be started has a negative ground system (this is most often the case)
a. First connect the red (+) cable clamp to the positive (red) battery pole of the vehicle.
b. Next, connect the black (-) terminal to the vehicle chassis or a fixed, non-moving terminal, vehicle
component or metal body part. DO NOT connect directly to the negative battery terminal or any moving part.
If the vehicle to be started has the positive battery terminal connected to the chassis (this is rarely
and usually found in older car models from the 1950s or earlier):
a. First connect the black (-) terminal to the negative (black) terminal of the vehicle battery.
b. Connect the red (+) terminal to the vehicle chassis or a fixed, non-moving metal component or part. DO NOT
connect directly to the positive battery terminal or any moving part.
7. Note the colour of the reverse polarity protection indicator. If the light is RED, DO NOT OPEN THE START-UP
SAFETY SWITCH!
a. Position of the cable terminals must be changed.
b. Disconnect the black terminal first and then the red terminal.
c. Reconnect them and observe the indicator again.
When the indicator is GREEN, turn on the bypass safety switch.
a. Inside the vehicle, turn on the ignition switch and try starting the engine.
b. Crank the engine for a maximum of 3 seconds. If the engine does not start, wait 3 minutes before you make
the next attempt.
c. After the engine has started, turn off the override safety switch.
d. Loosen the terminals in the reverse order of connection before the start jump.
(Usually first the black terminal from the body and then the red terminal from the battery)
8. make sure that the cables and terminals are stored safely.
