First, ensure the power cord is plugged into a surge suppressor, and that the surge suppressor is plugged into a grounded outlet. Use a single-outlet surge suppressor meeting the specifications on page 9. Note: The treadmill is incompatible with GFCI outlets. Next, with the power cord plugged in, ensure the key is inserted into the console. Finally, check the reset/off circuit breaker near the power cord on the treadmill frame. If the switch protrudes, the breaker has tripped. Wait five minutes, then press the switch back in to reset it.

Why does my ProForm 831.24645.0 walking belt slow down when I walk on it?
    • A
      Andrew DunnAug 29, 2025
The walking belt might slow down due to several reasons. Ensure you're using a single-outlet surge suppressor. If the walking belt is too tight, this can decrease performance and potentially damage the belt. To resolve this, remove the key and unplug the power cord. Use the hex key to turn both rear roller bolts counterclockwise by a 1/4 turn. When the belt is properly tightened, you should be able to lift each edge 2 to 3 inches off the platform. Keep the belt centered. Plug the power cord back in, insert the key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat these steps until the walking belt is correctly tightened.

How to fix a ProForm 831.24645.0 walking belt that is off-center or slips?
    • A
      Angela MedinaSep 5, 2025
If the walking belt is off-center or slipping, first remove the key and unplug the power cord. If the belt has shifted left, turn the left rear roller bolt clockwise 1/2 turn with the hex key. If it's shifted right, turn the bolt counterclockwise 1/2 turn. Avoid overtightening. Plug the power cord back in, insert the key, and run the treadmill briefly. Repeat until centered. If the belt slips, turn both rear roller bolts clockwise 1/4 turn. You should be able to lift each side of the belt 2 to 3 inches off the platform when correctly tightened. Keep it centered. Then, plug the power cord in, insert the key, and carefully walk on the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the belt is properly tightened.
