How to fix ProForm Treadmill walking belt that is off-center?
    • J
      Joseph GarrettAug 12, 2025
If the walking belt is off-center or slips, first remove the key and unplug the power cord. For an off-center belt, if it has shifted left, turn the left rear roller bolt clockwise 1/2 turn; if it has shifted right, turn the bolt counterclockwise 1/2 turn. If the belt slips, turn both rear roller bolts clockwise 1/4 of a turn. Ensure you don't overtighten the belt. The walking belt is correctly tightened when you can lift each side 2 to 3 inches off the platform. Plug in the power cord, insert the key, and walk on the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat these steps until the belt is properly aligned and tightened.

What to do if ProForm PFTL49820 Treadmill turns off during use?
    • L
      Lynn DunnAug 20, 2025
If your ProForm Treadmill turns off during use, first check the circuit breaker located on the treadmill frame near the power cord. If the circuit breaker has tripped, wait five minutes, and then press the switch back in. Also, ensure the power cord is plugged in; if it is, unplug it, wait five minutes, and plug it back in. Finally, remove the key from the console and reinsert it fully.

Why does the ProForm PFTL49820 walking belt slow down when I walk on it?
    • J
      Jamie MejiaSep 1, 2025
The walking belt may slow down if you are not using a surge suppressor that meets the specifications. Also, if the walking belt is overtightened, treadmill performance may decrease. To correct this, remove the key and unplug the power cord. Using an allen wrench, turn both rear roller adjustment bolts counterclockwise 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is properly tightened, you should be able to lift each side of the walking belt 2 to 3 inches off the walking platform. Be careful to keep the walking belt centered. Plug in the power cord, insert the key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes.
