Do you have a question about the ProSun Luxura V5 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The ProSun V5 42 XLc Intensive is a vertical tanning unit designed for personal and commercial use, offering a comprehensive tanning experience.

Function Description

The device provides a tanning session through ultraviolet (UV) radiation emitted by its lamps. It features an internal timer for standalone operation or can be integrated with an external timer or coinbox system. The unit incorporates a "body cooling" function to regulate temperature during tanning, which also serves to discharge internal heat from the doors. The tanning time can be adjusted, with a maximum session duration of 30 minutes. The device is designed to be user-friendly, with clear indicators for operation status and fault reporting.

Important Technical Specifications

The ProSun V5 42 XLc Intensive operates on either a single-phase or three-phase electrical supply. For single-phase operation:

  • Voltage: 230V/1N~/PE/60Hz
  • Breaker: 1 x 50 A For three-phase operation:
  • Voltage: 230V/3~/PE/60Hz
  • Breaker: 3 x 40 A The unit is equipped with 42 lamps, each rated at 180W. The total weight of the unit is 530 lbs. Important Note: Operating the unit at voltage levels below 210 Volts or above 230 Volts will automatically nullify the ProSun factory warranty, as it can cause damage to the unit's system. The dimensions of the unit are approximately 2230 mm (height), 1280 mm (width), and 1040 mm (depth) at the base, extending to 1265 mm at the top. The overall height with the top cover is 2300 mm.

Usage Features

The tanning unit offers different skin type settings for sensible tanning, each with recommended maximum exposure times:

  • Skin Type I (Sensitive Skin): Burns easily & severely, does not tan. Maximum exposure: 2 minutes (Week 1), 4 minutes (Week 2), 8 minutes (Week 3), 12 minutes (Maximum).
  • Skin Type II (Light Skin): Burns easily & severely, tans minimally. Maximum exposure: 3 minutes (Week 1), 5 minutes (Week 2), 9 minutes (Week 3), 12 minutes (Maximum).
  • Skin Type III (Normal Skin): Burns moderately, tans moderately. Maximum exposure: 4 minutes (Week 1), 6 minutes (Week 2), 10 minutes (Week 3), 12 minutes (Maximum).
  • Skin Type IV (Dark Skin): Burns minimally, tans well / above average. Maximum exposure: 4 minutes (Week 1), 6 minutes (Week 2), 10 minutes (Week 3), 12 minutes (Maximum).

The device's operation can be controlled via an external timer/coinbox or an internal timer.

  • External Timer/Coinbox Operation: The machine starts automatically if there's no "remote start" function. If a "remote start" is available, the "start" button must be pressed. Pressing "stop" pauses the session; a second press initiates compulsory after-cooling, ending the session.
  • Internal Timer Operation: To adjust tanning time, hold "body cooling lower" and "body cooling higher" buttons for 10 seconds until "00" appears. Use "body cooling higher" to increase time (max 30 minutes) and "body cooling lower" to decrease. Press "start" to confirm. "-A" indicates external timer use, "-H" indicates internal timer use.
  • Body Cooling: The "body cooling higher" and "body cooling lower" buttons adjust the cooling intensity. This function cannot be switched off as it aids in heat discharge.
  • Counter Reading: The total number of hours for the entire machine and the ventilation time can be read by holding "stop" and "body cooling lower" buttons simultaneously for three seconds. The timer can be reset to "0".

Maintenance Features

  • General Maintenance: Repairs should only be carried out by qualified personnel. Always disconnect the main power at the circuit breaker before servicing or repairing the unit.
  • Cleaning: Only a special acrylic cleaner should be used to clean the acrylic sheet; alcohol-based cleaners can damage it. Do not clean electrical components with fluids.
  • Lamp and Starter Replacement: To ensure maximum tanning effectiveness, lamps and facial tanning lamps should be replaced as indicated by the manufacturer. Remove lamps by turning a quarter turn to the left, and starters by turning them a quarter turn to the left.
  • Acrylic Sheet Replacement: The acrylic sheet should be changed after every 1200 hours of operation to maintain maximum tanning effectiveness.
  • Environmental Regulations: Dispose of lamps according to local environmental regulations.
  • Fault Reporting: The unit provides error codes on its display:
    • E1: Internal timer is defective.
    • E2: Overheating door(s).
    • E3: Communication fault between control and switch parts. If any fault is reported, the electronics will emit bleep tones. Do not use the machine and remove the plug from the socket; contact your dealer for guidance.
  • Installation: When installing, maintain minimum distances as described in the "Dimensions / Placement" chapter. Ensure the unit does not touch the wall when opened.
  • Safety: The unit must be protected by a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) of 0.03A. Do not operate in moist or humid spaces. Users must wear protective UV goggles during operation. Ensure all fans are functioning properly and the timing mechanism is working. The internal cabin temperature should not exceed 30°C.
