Make sure that: the lenses are not blocked by your hand or fingers; the lenses are
clean.

Distance to the object exceeds 1000 m.
Solution
Pick an object at a distance not longer than 1000m.

Low reflection ratio (i.e. leaves of trees).

Large measurement error
