5 Installation
This pressure control unit must only be installed by personnel with the appropriate qualifications and
knowledge of electrical installation (according to applicable standards). They must observe the general
mandatory safety regulations when working.
This unit may only be used for clean water; the user should therefore check that the water is free of iron ore
or iron oxides before installing the water system. Such water would cause the unit to malfunction after a
certain period of use.
Before installing the pump, a test of the pressure control unit should be carried out to determine if the pump
is functioning without problems.
This pressure control unit can be installed directly on the pump and can also be installed on the pipe between
the first tap and the pump. The direction of water flow between the unit and the pump must be the same as
that indicated by the arrows on the unit. A swing check valve must not be installed above the pressure unit.
During installation, do not use glue or other means that may trap foreign material in the unit. This could
damage and deactivate the unit. The pressure control unit can be installed in a vertical or horizontal position
and the distance between the highest tap (the tap with the highest pressure drop) and the unit must not be
greater than X m (See Figure 2 for specific details.) 1.
