Electrical Systems
4.1 General
Your Pursuit boat is equipped with DC and
an optional AC electrical systems. The DC
system draws current from onboard batter-
ies. The AC system can draw current from
either shore power outlets at dockside or the
optional generator.
Electrical schematics are included in this
manual to assist technicians in the servicing
the electrical systems. Pursuit recommends
you take your boat to an authorized Pursuit
dealer for service or installation of additional
electrical equipment. Pursuit reserves the
right to modify or update the electrical sys-
tem at any time without notice to the con-
sumer or obligation to make updates to
boats built prior to the change.
Some compartments on your boat may be
lighted. Lights bulbs produce heat and can
ignite combustible products. Turn off all light-
ing before you leave the boat.
4.2 DC System
Batteries
The 12-volt batteries have been selected to
provide optimum performance for engine
starting, and house and electronics loads.
There are three, Group 31, lead acid batter-
ies; one for the starboard engine, one for the
port engine, and a house battery. These bat-
teries require similar maintenance to auto-
mobile batteries. The batteries are located in
the aft bilge. A circuit breaker on each
engine protects the engine ignition systems
and gauges. Refer to the engine owner's
manual for information on the circuit break-
ers installed on your engines.
DC Distribution
The 12-volt DC system batteries are
charged by the engine charging system or
the battery charger when connected to the
optional shore power. The 12-volt DC power
is distributed to the battery switches and the
circuit breakers on the Main Distribution Panel
(MDP), located in the aft, starboard cockpit.
These circuit breakers protect the switch pan-
els that are located on the helm and in the
head enclosure.
The circuit breaker on each engine protects
the engine ignition systems and gauges.
Refer to the engine owner's manual for infor-
mation on your engines.
! WARNING
FIRE OR EXPLOSION HAZARD
Ignited combustible products can
cause fire or explosion, resulting in
death or serious injury. DO NOT store
combustibles near lights and turn off
all lighting before leaving the boat.
