Idlespeedadjustment
NOTE:
Adiagnostictachometermustbeusedforthisprocedure.
1.Starttheengineandwarmitupforafewminutesat
approximately1,000to2,000r/min.Occasionally
revtheengineto4,000to5,000r/min.Theengineis
warmwhenitquicklyrespondstothethrottle.
2.Connectthetachometertothesparkpluglead,andthen
settheidletothespecifiedidlingspeedbyadjusting
thethrottlestopscrew.Turnthescrewindirectionato
increasetheenginespeed,andindirectionbtodecrease
theenginespeed.
Specifiedidlespeed:
1,450-1,550r/min
Throttlestopscrew
Thecorrectvalveclearancechangeswithuse,resulting
inimproperfuel/airsupplyorenginenoise.Toprevent
this,thevalveclearancemustbeadjustedregularly.
Thisadjustmenthowever,shouldbelefttoaprofessional
ATVservicetechnician.
