Thereisneveramoreimportantperiodinthelifeof
yourmachinethantheperiodbetweenzeroand20hours.
Forthisreason,weaskthatyoucarefullyreadthefollowing
material.Becausetheengineisbrandnew,youmustnot
putanexcessiveloadonitforthefirstseveralhoursof
running.
Duringthefirst20hours,thevariouspartsintheengine
wearandpolishthemselvestothecorrectoperating
clearances.
Duringthisperiod,prolongedfullthrottleoperationor
anyconditionwhichmightresultinexcessiveengine
heatingmustbeavoided.
However,momentary(2-3secondsmaximum)fullthrottle
operationunderloaddoesnotharmtheengine.
0-10hours:
Avoidcontinuousoperationabovehalfthrottle.Allow
acoolingoffperiodoffivetotenminutesafterevery
hourofoperation.Varythespeedofthemachinefrom
timetotime.Donotoperateitatonesetthrottleposition.
Eachfullthrottleaccelerationsequenceshouldbe
followedwithasubstantialrestperiodfortheengineby
cruisingatlowerr/minsotheenginecanriditselfofthe
temporarybuildupofheatIfanyabnormalityisnoticed
duringthisperiod,consultaATVdealer.
