NOTE: When installing into a masonry fireplace, the fireplace must be built to UBC Chapter 37
standards. Do not remove brick or mortar from masonry fireplace to accommodate insert.The
permanent metal warning plate label provided must be attached to the back of the fireplace stat-
ing the fireplace may have been altered to accomodate the insert and must be returned to original
condition for use as a conventional fireplace.

HEARTH REQUIREMENTS
There must be 3/8 minimum non-combustible material or equivalent extending 16 in
front of insert and 8 to both sides. If the hearth extension is lower than the fireplace
opening, the portion of the insert extending onto the hearth requires support. Manufac-
turer support kits can be ordered by the necessary adjustment size.
