C. Wind Screen Effects
To prevent erroneous measurement of sound levels caused by wind blowing
across the microphone, the use of a windscreen is recommended. The wind
screen will reduce wind effects and will also help protect the microphone
under dusty, oily, or humid conditions. Acoustic attenuation effects of the
one-half inch (WS-7) and the one inch (WS-3) windscreen are shown in Figure
7.
