Turn machine off and on again to save new settings.
Controls amp mode (4 for coffee priority, 6 for both boilers). Both switches must be on for setting 6.
Coffee offset calibrated. Steam offset (0° default) can increase pressure up to 5° but not exceed 2 bars.
Three main variables: quantity of ground coffee, tamping, and the grind.
Loosely fill basket, level off excess with finger for even extraction.
Apply 30lbs pressure evenly, then lightly twist to polish. Consistent tamping is crucial.
Adjust grind for tapered mouse tail flow (approx. 25s for 2oz shot). Grind size between powder and salt.
Maintain same coffee quantity and tamping pressure. Adjust only grind if shots are inconsistent.
Use coldest milk possible. Stop process between 150-160°F to avoid burnt taste.
Initial heating and air introduction. Continue until milk reaches ~100°F ('body temperature').
Submerge wand to roll milk, breaking large bubbles into small ones for creamy texture.
Point steam arm over drip tray, open valve to purge water from condensation.
Do not remove more than 6oz at a time until boiler refills. Failure may damage heating element.
Water is ~250°F and dispensed under force. Use extreme caution to avoid injury.
Adjust pump pressure using screw 'B' to set ~9 bar with backflush disc.
Raise brew lever, turn screw 'B' clockwise to increase, counter-clockwise to decrease pressure.
Raise lever, wait for pressure. Use flat blade screwdriver to adjust pump screw.
If 9 bar with backflush disc but <8 bar during espresso, grind finer. Adjust for coffee freshness.
Discouraged due to risks: react with minerals, foam over components, damage plating, cause blockages.
Verify power, boiler switches, reservoir level/float position. Check hi-limit switches on boilers.
Check pump pressure (9.5-10 bar), adjust grind coarser, check reservoir line/screen, verify tamping (30lbs).
Check pump pressure (9.5-10 bar), adjust grind finer, ensure proper coffee amount and 30lbs tamping.
