Quicksilver 455CAB — System & Component Overview and Operaon
1. Fuel System
Your boat’s petrol fuel system consists of a portable fuel tank located in the bilge. Access to the tank is
via the center cockpit oor hatch. Straps are used to secure the tank to the fuel tank oor. On the
portable tank itself is a quick-disconnect ng that allows you to easily remove the fuel distribuon
line to the engine. It is recommended that you follow all instrucons regarding the lling and
transportaon of the portable fuel tank.
Fuel Tank
Your boat is equipped with a 25L portable fuel tank. As a precauon, all of the capacity may not be
useable due to trim and loading condions, so consider keeping at a minimum 25% reserve fuel in the
tank.
Fuel tanks with levels less than 25% capacity can cause engine stalling problems due to fuel starvaon
or by allowing sediment and dirt to enter the fuel supply lines. Keep the tank full and monitor the fuel
level oen to prevent this from happening.
Primer Bulb
The primer bulb allows you to draw fuel from the tank to the engine when connecng the portable
tank or when fuel has been drained from the system. Refer to the instrucons provided in the engine
manufacturer’s handbook.
Ethanol—Blended Fuels

in increasing the octane level of unleaded gasoline. The fuel system components of your Mercury
