Quicksilver 755OP — Electrical Systems
41
1. DC Electrical System
The DC electrical system is powered by either one or two baeries, and are kept charged by the
engine driven alternator. The baery voltage is indicated by the voltmeter screen located on the
SmartCra
TM
tachometer, or on the oponal Vessel View.
2. Baeries
Refer to your engine owner’s manual for exact baeries requirements. All baeries in a baery bank
should be of the same type, age, and rang.
To remove the baery cables:
1. Turn o all items drawing power from the baery.
2. Turn the baery switches to the OFF posion.
3. Remove the negave cable rst, then the posive cable.
To replace the cables, install the posive cable rst, then the negave cable.
3. Baery Boxes
The baeries are located in the a bilge, and can be accessed through the cockpit storage hatch.
Depending on the engine type dictates the number of baeries on your boat. On the a boat that has
an L6 Verado, there are two baeries; on all other engines, there is only a single baery. The baery
can be installed or removed by loosening the strap and removing the lid on the baery box. They
should always be installed and secured with the baery box installed on your boat. This will ensure
that the baery will not move around while the boat is underway.
4. Baery Selector Switches
Your vessel is equipped with a baery switch to control the delivery of DC power from the baeries.
The baery switch is located in the a storage tub.
Non-L6 Engine Boat
On a non-L6 engine boat, there is a single baery switch that controls a single baery. The baery
switch is located on a panel under the center a seat hatch in the cockpit. When you turn the baery
switch to the ON posion, power is provided from the baery to the enre boat. To turn on power,
rotate the switch clockwise 90 degrees to the ON posion.
L6 Engine Boat
On a L6 engine boat, there is a single baery switch that controls two isolated baery banks. When
you turn the baery switch to the ON posion, power is provided from both the port engine baery
and the starboard house baery. The baery switch also has the ability to combine baery banks for
emergency starng. To turn on power to the boat, rotate the switch clockwise 90 degrees to the ON
posion. To ulize both baery banks for emergency starng, push the switch in and rotate clockwise
45 degrees.
NOTE: Never operate or turn o the baery switch when the engine is running as it may cause
damage to electronic components on the boat. Always operate the switch with the engine and
accessories o.
Never use an open ame in the baery storage area. Avoid
striking sparks in the baery area.
Always disconnect the baery before doing any work on the
electrical system. Never turn o the baery switches or
disconnect the baery cables while the engines are running.
