1. DC Electrical System
The DC electrical system is powered by either one or two baeries, and are kept charged by the
engine driven alternator. The baery voltage is indicated by the voltmeter screen located on the
SmartCra
TM
tachometer, or on the oponal Vessel View.
2. Baeries
Refer to your engine owner’s manual for exact baeries requirements. All baeries in a baery bank
should be of the same type, age, and rang.
To remove the baery cables:
1. Turn o all items drawing power from the baery.
2. Turn the baery switches to the OFF posion.
3. Remove the negave cable rst, then the posive cable.
To replace the cables, install the posive cable rst, then the negave cable.
3. Baery Boxes
The baeries are located in the a bilge, and can be accessed through the cockpit storage hatch.
Depending on the engine type dictates the number of baeries on your boat. On the a boat that has
an L6 Verado, there are two baeries; on all other engines, there is only a single baery. The baery
can be installed or removed by loosening the strap and removing the lid on the baery box. They
should always be installed and secured with the baery box installed on your boat. This will ensure
that the baery will not move around while the boat is underway.
4. Baery Selector Switches
Your vessel is equipped with a baery switch to control the delivery of DC power from the baeries.
The baery switch is located in the a storage tub.
Non-L6 Engine Boat
On a non-L6 engine boat, there is a single baery switch that controls a single baery. The baery
switch is located on a panel under the center a seat hatch in the cockpit. When you turn the baery
switch to the ON posion, power is provided from the baery to the enre boat. To turn on power,
rotate the switch clockwise 90 degrees to the ON posion.
L6 Engine Boat
On a L6 engine boat, there is a single baery switch that controls two isolated baery banks. When
you turn the baery switch to the ON posion, power is provided from both the port engine baery
and the starboard house baery. The baery switch also has the ability to combine baery banks for
emergency starng. To turn on power to the boat, rotate the switch clockwise 90 degrees to the ON
posion. To ulize both baery banks for emergency starng, push the switch in and rotate clockwise
45 degrees.
NOTE: Never operate or turn o the baery switch when the engine is running as it may cause
damage to electronic components on the boat. Always operate the switch with the engine and
accessories o.
Never use an open ame in the baery storage area. Avoid
striking sparks in the baery area.
Always disconnect the baery before doing any work on the
electrical system. Never turn o the baery switches or
disconnect the baery cables while the engines are running.
