The Radiant Metric Series Round swimming pool is designed for residential use, offering a durable and enjoyable swimming experience. The manual guides users through the entire installation process, from initial site selection and preparation to the final assembly of pool components and filling the pool with water. It also includes specific instructions for inground installations, including walk-in steps and concrete collar requirements. Important Technical Specifications:
- Pool Sizes: The manual provides component checklists and water gallonage requirements for various pool sizes: 16', 18', 21', 24', 27', 30', and 33'.
- Wall Height: The pool wall height is 52 inches, with water typically filled to 46 inches.
- Patio Block Installation: 2"x8"x16" patio blocks are required at specific intervals around the perimeter, varying by pool size (e.g., 16' pool requires 8 blocks at 6' 1 1/2" intervals; 33' pool requires 14 blocks at 7' 4 1/8" intervals).
- Sand Base: A 2" to 3" base of clean washed masonry sand or other suitable base material is required inside the entire pool.
- Pool Cove: A pool cove, 4" to 6" high, must be built from masonry sand along the entire circumference of the pool wall.
- Electrical Requirements: All electrical outlet connections must be a minimum of 5' from the outside perimeter of the pool wall. From 5'-10', a fixed connection (outlet box) or twist lock connection with a GFCI is required. Power cords must connect to a 3-wire grounding-type outlet only. All electric outlets within 10' of the pool site must be GFI protected.
- Inground Installation (Concrete Collar): A minimum 8" concrete collar is required for any pool installed 26" or greater in the ground. The concrete collar for a 26" or more backfill varies by pool size (e.g., 16' pool requires 2 cubic yards; 33' pool requires 6.5 cubic yards). An additional 2.5 cubic yards of concrete are needed if a thermoplastic walk-in step is included.
- Skimmer/Return Fitting: The skimmer and return fitting locations are pre-cut in specific wall panels. Additional return fittings can be drilled 12" down from the top of the panel using a 3" hole saw. For Radiant LED lights, the hole should be 14" down from the top.
- Bolting: 2 1/2" bolts and nuts are used to secure pool panels to anchor plates. 1" screws are used for skimmer faceplates.
- Coping: Standard 2" and Premium 4" plastic coping options are available, secured with sheet metal screws.
- Walk-in Step Compatibility: Different adapter kits are used for different radius pools (16', 18', 27' pools have 2 shorter panels; 21', 24', 30', 33' pools have 1 shorter panel). Straight steps are for pool sizes 21' and larger, while radius steps are for 18' and smaller.
