7.1.3 FILE ACCESS ON A MAC
Forfileaccessonthelocalnetwork,mountingthedriveviaSMBisthemostconv enientsolution.
However,ifyouliketoaccessthenetworkdriveinthesamewayfromoutsidethelocalnetwork,the
drivehastobemountedviaWebDAV.IfyouareusinganFTPapplication,usetheFTPconnection
instead.

TomountandaccessthenetworkdriveonthelocalnetworkviaSMB,usethe“ConnecttoServer”
command.
ClickGoandselect“ConnecttoServer”.

Select“RegisteredUser”andenteryourusernameandpassword.ClickConnecttocontinue.
ChooseafolderfromthelistandclickOK.
ThemounteddriveappearsinyourfinderunderShareddevices.Youcanaccessthenetworkdrive
andtransferyourfiles.Whennolongerneeded,clickejecttodisconnectthedrive.

TomountandaccessthenetworkdriveviaWebDAV,usethe“ConnecttoServer”command.
ClickGoandselect“ConnecttoServer”.
EntereithertheinternalorexternalURLofyournetworkdrive,dependingonhowyouare
connectedandclickConnect.YoucanfindthecorrectURLunder“Settings”ofyournetworkdrive.
Goto“ShareServer”,selecttheWebDAVtabandcopyeithertheinternalorexternalURL.
Select“RegisteredUser”andenteryourusernameandpassword.ClickConnecttocontinue.
ThemounteddriveappearsinyourfinderunderShareddevices.Youcanaccessthenetworkdrive
andtransferyourfiles.Whennolongerneeded,clickejecttodisconnectthedrive.

ForFTPtransfers,werecommendinstallingandusingadedicatedFTPapplication,whichcaneither
beafreeapplicationorasharewareprogram.
