Figure 7: Loudspeaker Connection FRONT Stereo
Loudspeaker Connection: Mono-Bridge
The bridge connection is performed at the clamps “FRONT” +FL (6) and FR– (6) or “REAR” +RL (7) and RR– (7)
with the marking "BRIDGED". The clamps L– and R+ not used for this mode of operation must not be occupied!
Connect the plus (+) cable of the loudspeaker at the clamp “FRONT” +FL (6) or “REAR” (7) +RL and the minus
(–) cable with the clamp “FRONT” FR– (6) or “REAR” RR– (7) (Fig. 8).
The socket „LOW INPUT“ FRONT (
8
) FR+FL and/or “LOW INPUT” REAR (9) RR+RL must be occupied by a
Y-RCA cable, which will then distribute the signal to both RCA sockets, during mono operation.
Recommendation: The amplifier part „FRONT“ is intended for use as broadband or high-pass for the front
system. A mono-bridge connection for the amplifier part „Front“ is only recommended for
broadband and/or high-pass operation mode when the amplifier, for purpose of maximum
performance, is used separately for the left and right sides.
Use amplifier part „REAR“ over the low-pass at 80 Hz for a subwoofer in mono-bridged
connection. Use amplifier part „FRONT“ over the high-pass at around 60 Hz for a kickbass
front system (Fig. 9).
The connection impedance of the loudspeakers during mono operation may not fall below 4, in order that the
critical minimum connection impedance of 2 is maintained. A 2 loudspeaker connection is not permitted for
reasons of thermal power load limitations.
Note: An 8 loudspeaker impedance on the mono bridge represents a material impedance of about 4 on the
amplifier. At 4 the material impedance is only around 2 and at 2 it is only around 1. The halving of the
impedance is achieved through the allocation performed by the mono clamps bridging the two internal amplifiers.
