EN: User Manual for RASCAL Balance Bikes
Thank you for purchasing a RASCAL balance bike. We hope your child will have fun riding it.
Before the First Ride
When you get your bike in a store, it is fully assembled and ready to be ridden. However, before
the first ride, make sure that:
▼ the saddle, handlebars and pedals are securely tightened,
▼ the height of the saddle and handlebars are set to suit your child's proportions,
▼ the brakes function properly,
▼ the brake levers are easy to reach (if not, adjust them),
▼ the wheels are securely seated in the frame and fork, and spin freely.
▼ the tyres are inflated (see the sidewall for recommended air pressure).
If you had your bicycle delivered, it comes pre-assembled and adjusted. Therefore, follow these
steps:
1. UNBOX THE BIKE
Avoid shard objects when unpacking and removing the protection material as you could damage
the bike parts. The unassembled balance bike contains choking hazard objects. Keep them out
of reach of children and animals.
2. INSTAL THE HANDLEBARS
Install the handlebars into the stem and tighten the bolts. If the stem is already mounted on the
handlebars, slide the stem onto the steerer tube of the fork. Then put the top cap and top screw
on and tighten the crew. Adjust the handlebars so the front wheel points straight to the front.
Tighten the two crews on the side of the stem. Keep the recommended Torque wrench.
3. TIGHTEN THE STEM
Use 4mm Allen key to tighten the screws by turning them clockwise in cross-order. See the
Torque wrench in this manual.
WARNING! Failure to tighten the screws correctly might lead to serious injuries. Before riding,
check the handlebars are fixed: (1) block the front wheel between your legs, (2) check that the
stem is fixed on the steerer tube of the fork by turning the handlebars left and right.
4. ADJUST THE SEAT HEIGHT
Adjust the seat height with a 5mm Allen key. The rider should have both feet on the ground when
sitting on the balance bike. Their knees should be slightly bent.
5. CHECK THE TYRE PRESSURE
Check the tyre pressure before every ride. You will find the recommended pressure on the
sidewall of the tire. Always use a bicycle pump.
