CAUTION: Always check the brakes before riding. If you are in any doubt, contact your RASCAL
dealer or RASCAL Bikes service center.
BAD WEATHER WARNING
Always be aware that brakes do not work as efficiently in wet weather as in dry conditions. In
wet conditions, even well-maintained brakes require a longer distance to stop. Therefore, teach
your child to be more careful when riding in wet conditions and equip them with lights and
reflectors for better visibility.
Maintenance Schedule
To keep the bicycle in good condition it requires regular maintenance and service. The
frequency of service and maintenance should match the frequency of use. If you consistently
ride more or in poor weather conditions, you should check the bike more frequently.
Tires: Check pressure, tread, and sidewalls for damage before every ride.
Brakes: Check the brakes function well and are reliable before every ride.
Bolts & hardware: Check the bolts are tight weekly. Spray such parts with water dispersant
after washing/rain.
Brake pads: Check the wear of brake pads weekly.
Wheels: Check the spoke tension weekly. Check that the hubs spin freely.
Torque Wrench Recommendation
Stem: 4-5Nm
Handlebars: 4,4-5,4Nm
Break levers: 6-7,8Nm
Seat clamp: 6,7-7,8Nm
Front wheel bolts: 9-10Nm
Rear wheel bolts: 9-10Nm
Brake cable pinch bolt: 3-4Nm
Riding in Reduced Visibility:
Your RASCAL Balance Bike comes with a full set of reflectors. Keep the reflectors on the bike
and make sure they are clean. They are crucial for good visibility and overall safety. If you ride in
dull or dark conditions, we strongly recommend using a set of reliable battery-powered lights.
We also strongly recommend your child wear reflective clothes or accessories when riding,
especially in poor visibility conditions.
Warranty Limitations
The warranty does not cover:
Normal wear and tear of components.

Bikes to contradict intended use).

User Manual or the Assembly Manual.
