To keep the bicycle in good condition it requires regular maintenance and service. The
frequency of service and maintenance should match the frequency of use. However, the
following bicycle parts should be checked regularly.
Frame & Fork: Check for damage, discoloration, dents or cracks before every ride.
Tires: Check the pressure, tread, and sidewalls for damage before every ride.
Brakes: Check the brakes function well and are reliable before every ride. Hydraulic
brakes should be bled annually.

dispersant after washing/rain.
Brake pads: Check the wear of brake pads weekly.
Suspension fork: Recommended service interval is 6 months. See the manufacturer
guide for more details.

Riding in Reduced Visibility:
Your RASCAL bicycle comes with a set of reflectors. Keep the reflectors on the bicycle and make
sure they are clean. They are crucial for good visibility and overall safety. If you ride in dull or
dark conditions, we strongly recommend using a set of reliable battery-powered lights. We also
strongly recommend your child wear reflective clothes or accessories when riding, especially in
poor visibility conditions.
