3.3Surfacemounting
TheMFDcanbesurfacemounted.
Beforemountingtheunit,ensurethatyouhave:
•Selectedasuitablelocation.
•Identifiedthecableconnectionsandroutethatthecableswilltak
e.
•DetachedtheMenu/Homebuttonskeypad.
•Detachedthefrontscrewcovers.
1.Checkthechosenmountinglocation.Aclear ,flatareawithsuitableclearancebehindthepanelis
required.
2.Fixthesuppliedmountingtemplatetothechosenlocationusingmaskingorself-adhesivetape.
3.Usingasuitableholesaw(thesizeisindicatedonthetemplate),makeaholeineachcorner
ofthecut-outarea.
4.Usingasuitablesaw,cutalongtheinsideedgeofthecut-outline.
5.Ensurethattheunitfitsintotheremovedareaandthenfilearoundanyroughedgesuntilsmooth.
6.Drill4holesasindicatedonthetemplatetoacceptthefixings.
7.Placethegasketontotherearofthedisplayandpressfirmlyontotheflange.
8.Connectthepower,dataandothercablestotheMFD.
9.Slidetheunitintoplaceandsecureusingthefixingsprovided.
10.AttachtheMenu/Homebuttonskeypad,byslidingitdownfromabovetheMFD.
11.AttachthebezelpiecestoeithersideoftheMFD.
Note:Thesuppliedgask etprovidesasealbetweentheunitandasuitablyflatandstiffmounting
surfaceorbinnacle.Thegasketshouldbeusedinallinstallations.Itmayalsobenecessaryto
useamarine-gradesealantifthemountingsurfaceorbinnacleisnotentirelyflatandstiffor
hasaroughsurfacefinish.
