ThisproductisNOTapprovedforuseinhazardous/flammableatmospheres.DoNOTinstallina
hazardous/flammableatmosphere(suchasinanengineroomornearfueltanks).
7.3LocationrequirementsEV–1andEV–2
Theinstallationlocationmusttakeintoaccountthefollowingrequirements:
Theunitcanbeinstalledaboveorbelowdecks.
Theunitmustbemountedonahorizontalandlevelsurface.Theunitmaybemounteduprightor
upside-down,buttheunitmustbelevelwithinofpitchandofroll(comparedwiththevessel’s
neutralpositionwhenatrestandnormallyloaded).

Theunitcanbemountedonaverticalsurfacesuchasabulkheadormastetc,usingthesupplied
bracket.
Theunitlocationmustbeatleast1m(3ft.)awayfromanysourceofmagneticinterference,such
ascompassesandelectricalcables.
Choosealocationwheretheunitwillbesafefromphysicaldamageandexcessivevibration.
Choosealocationwheretheunitwillnotbesubjectedtoaloadorforce.
Mountawayfromanysourceofheatorpotentialflammablehazards,suchasfuelvapor.
TheunitshouldbemountedinalocationwherethediagnosticsLEDisviewable.
TheunitmustbemountedwiththeLED‘arrow’onthetopoftheunitpointingtowardsthevessel’s
bowandmustbeinparallelalignmentwiththelongitudinalaxis(centerline)ofthevessel.
