How to resolve 'NO WIND DATA' on Raymarine Security Sensors?
    • R
      Rebecca SnyderSep 4, 2025
If your Raymarine Security Sensors display 'NO WIND DATA', the autopilot, when in Wind Vane mode, has not received wind angle data for 32 seconds. Check the connections to the wind transducer.

What to do if Raymarine Security Sensors display 'RATEGYRO FAIL'?
    • P
      Peter MosleySep 18, 2025
If the Raymarine Security Sensors display 'RATEGYRO FAIL', the internal rate gyro on the EV-1 or EV-2 unit has developed a fault. This will be evident as a compass issue and could cause the compass heading to deviate or lock-up. If the problem persists, contact your local Raymarine service center.

What does 'PILOT RESET EXCEPTION (UNEXPECTED SOFTWARE RESET)' mean on Raymarine Security Sensors?
    • J
      Jacqueline McdanielSep 16, 2025
The 'PILOT RESET EXCEPTION (UNEXPECTED SOFTWARE RESET)' error on Raymarine Security Sensors indicates that the EV-1 / EV-2 software has detected a fault it cannot recover from and has reset the pilot. Wait approximately 1 minute for the EV-1 / EV-2 to reset and re-initialize.

What does 'PILOT RESET NORMAL (UNEXPECTED HARDWARE RESET)' mean on Raymarine Security Sensors?
    • D
      david31Sep 14, 2025
The 'PILOT RESET NORMAL (UNEXPECTED HARDWARE RESET)' on Raymarine Security Sensors means that the autopilot resets due to an external event, such as the use of the sleep switch or faulty wiring causing the autopilot components to power cycle. Check all system wiring, especially power-related wiring.

What does 'NO IPS (NO DRIVE DETECTED)' mean on Raymarine Security Sensors?
    • A
      Alyssa WilkinsonSep 12, 2025
The 'NO IPS (NO DRIVE DETECTED)' error on Raymarine Security Sensors indicates a loss of communications between the EV-1 and ACU, or EV-2 and drive interface unit. Check all physical data connections between these devices, as appropriate.

What does 'JOYSTICK FAULT' mean on Raymarine Security Sensors?
    • K
      Kevin GordonSep 12, 2025
The 'JOYSTICK FAULT' alarm on Raymarine Security Sensors indicates a fault has occurred with the joystick. This applies only to autopilot systems that include a joystick controller. Check the connections to, and operation of the joystick.

What to do if Raymarine Security Sensors show 'NO GPS DATA'?
    • N
      Nancy MurphySep 9, 2025
If your Raymarine Security Sensors display 'NO GPS DATA', it means a source of GPS data is not connected to the SeaTalkng ® system. Check connections to the GPS data source.

What does 'MOTOR POWER SWAPPED' mean on Raymarine Security Sensors?
    • K
      Kevin DanielsSep 7, 2025
The 'MOTOR POWER SWAPPED' error on Raymarine Security Sensors indicates that, on the Evolution ACU unit, the motor cables are connected to the power terminals, and vice versa. To fix this, switch off the power to the unit and reconnect correctly.

What does 'CLUTCH OVERLOAD' mean on Raymarine Security Sensors?
    • J
      juliepowellSep 5, 2025
The 'CLUTCH OVERLOAD' error on Raymarine Security Sensors means that the clutch for the drive system is demanding a greater power output than is supported by the clutch power output of the Evolution components. Refer to the clutch power output ratings provided in the Installation instructions for the relevant Evolution components, and ensure the clutch for the drive unit does not exceed this power output.

What to do if Raymarine Security Sensors show 'DRIVE STOPPED'?
    • M
      Matthew WestAug 21, 2025
If the Raymarine Security Sensors display 'DRIVE STOPPED', it could be due to several reasons. The motor or steering might not have moved within 20 seconds of a course change command, so verify that the rudder angle reference sensor is correctly installed, reflecting the limits and end-stops of the vessel’s rudder system. For EV-1 systems, check the ACU drive output voltage and drive and clutch voltage output (if applicable). Also, the autopilot might be unable to turn the rudder due to weather or rudder limits; check all connections to the ACU and drive unit. Ensure the drive unit operates without stalling and that the steering system is secure. Autopilot resets due to an external event. Autopilot resets due to software error.
