Ifyourradioisalreadytunedtotheprioritychannel
thentheIgnoreoptionwillnotbeavailable.
Withanincomingdistresscalldisplayed.
1.SelectIgnorefromtheoptionsdisplayed.
Normaloperationisresumed.
Acknowledgingadistresscall
Distresscallsmustonlybeacknowledgedifthecall
continueswithoutacknowledgementfromaCRS,
youarecloseenoughtothedistressedvesselto
beofassistanceandarepreparedtorelaythe
distresstoaCRSbyanymeanspossible.Class
DDSCradiosareforbiddenfromautomatically
acknowledgingdistresscalls.Acknowledgement
mustonlybemadebyvoicemessageonchannel16.
Afterreceivingadistresscallthathasgone
unanswered:
1.Switchtochannel16tolistenforthedistress
voicemessage.
2.WaitfortheCRStoacknowledgethecall.
3.Ifthedistresscallisnotacknowledgedbyanother
stationthenacknowledgethecallasfollows:
