Drive type
The drive type setting controls how the SmartPilot drives the steering system. The
drive type sho uld be set when commissioning the SmartPilot (see
page 22
).
Align rudder
Use this setting to calibrate the rudder bar display . This is usually set as part of the
comm issioning process (see
page 23
). T his screen also appears in th e Seatrial
Calibrat ion grouping.
Rudder limit
Use the rudder limit screen to set the limits of the rudder contro l just inside the
mechan ical end stops . This will avoi d putting the steering system under
unnec essary load. Y o u should adjust th is setting when commissioning the
SmartPil ot (see
page 23
).
Rudder gain
Rudder ga in is a measure of how much helm the SmartPilot will appl y to correct
course erro rs. T he higher the setting the m ore rudder will be applied.
TillerPilot (and Gyro upgraded WheelPilot) systems will adjust the rudder gain
autom atically during AutoLearn (see
page 28
).
WheelPil ot systems (withou t the Gyro upgr ade) will require manual adjust
ment of rud der gain (see
page 32
).
