Alarmsareusedtoalertyoutoasituationorhazardrequiringyour
attention.
Someexamplesofalarmsare:
•Anchoralarm—Usedunderanchor,thisalertsyoutoachangein
depthwhichcouldmeanthatthechainlengthrequiresadjusting.
•Depthandspeedalarms—Thesealarmsalertyouwhenthe
depthorspeedexceedsaspeciedlimit,forexampleaminimum
depth.
•MOB(ManOverboard)alarm—ReceivedfromanMOBsystem.
Whenanalarmoccurs,amessageisdisplayedandanaudible
alarmmaysound.
Youcaneither:
•Silencethealarm,or
•editthealarmsettings.
ManOverboardalarm
IntheeventofaManOverboard(MOB)alarm,theinstrument
providesarangeofinformationtohelpndtheMOBtarget.
•BTW:BearingtoMOBwaypoint.
•DTW:DistancetoMOBwaypoint.
•Elapsed:TimesincestartofMOBalarm.
BTWandDTWrequiredatafromothersourcessuchasaGPS
andmultifunctiondisplay.Ifthesearenotavailablethenonlythe
