Calibratingwindspeed

Setupmenu.
1.PressENTERtoproceedtothetransducersetupoptions.
2.SelectWindthenCalibrateVanefromtheavailableoptions.
3.PressENTERandfollowtheon-screeninstructionstocomplete
thecalibration.
Aligningthewindvane
Aligningthewindvaneensuresthatthewindanglereadingis
accurate.
•Youwillneedtobeunderway,withsufcientspacetomaneuver
unhindered.
•Conditionsshouldbecalmorslightwaterandasteadybreeze.
Headdirectlyintothewind,thenfollowtheinstructionsbelow.

2.SelectWindthenAlignVanefromtheavailableoptions.
3.Checkthatyouarestillheadingdirectlyintothewind,then
pressENTERtoacceptthealignmentandreturntotheWind
transducersetupmenu.
4.5Speedcalibration
Speedcalibrationinvolvesaligningthelogspeed(SpeedThrough
Water)totheSpeedoverground(SOG),underzerotideconditions.
Theobjectofspeedcalibrationistoensurethatthespeedreadings
attheinstrumentsaretrueindicationsoftheboatspeed.
Speedtransducerperformanceisaffectedbyitspositionand
water-owcharacteristicsatdifferentspeeds.Itisadvisabletocarry
outcalibrationatvariousspeedsacrosstherangeofyourboat.
Calibratingspeed(conventionaltransducers)
•Youwillneedanaccuratespeedoverground(SOG)value,e.g.
determinedfromaGPSconnectedintoyourSeaT alksystem.
•Youwillneedtobeunderway,withsufcientspacetomaneuver
unhindered.
•Conditionsshouldbecalmwaterwithaslacktide.
Note:Itisimportantthatthereisnotide.Theaffectoftidal
currentwouldbetopreventanaccuratespeedcalibration.
