Chapter 1: ST70 Overview
1.1 Functions
The ST70 Autopilot controller is used to control your autopilot system. It can be used
with Raymarine SPX, S1, S2 and S3 SmartPilot systems (although it cannot be used
to calibrate an S1, S2 or S3 system).
The functions of the ST70 controller are tailored to different situations:
General
• Steering to a heading
• Steering to a waypoint (using GPS or a chartplotter)
• Power / emergency steering
Motor boats and fishermen
• Trolling for fish
Sailboats
• Maintain a fixed point of sail
• Auto tacking
