Why does my ReddyHeater BWH10NLMC-2 make a whistling noise when the burner is lit?
    • A
      angelwilsonSep 4, 2025
A whistling noise when the burner is lit can be caused by several factors: * Turning the control knob to the high position when the burner is cold; turn the control knob to the low position and let it warm up for a minute. * Air in the gas line; operate the burner until the air is removed from the line and have the gas line checked by your local gas supplier. * Blocked air passageways; ensure minimum installation clearances are observed. * A dirty or partially clogged burner orifice; clean the burner.

What to do if the ODS/pilot lights but the flame goes out when the control knob is released on my ReddyHeater Heater?
    • B
      basstylerSep 18, 2025
If the ODS/pilot lights but the flame goes out when the control knob is released, ensure the control knob is fully pressed in and held for at least 30 seconds after the ODS/pilot lights. Check that the equipment shutoff valve is fully open. Also, make sure the thermocouple connection is snug at the control valve, hand tighten it and then tighten it 1/4 turn more. The pilot flame might not be touching the thermocouple, which allows the thermocouple to cool, causing the pilot flame to go out. This could be due to low gas pressure (contact your local gas company) or a dirty/partially clogged ODS/pilot (clean or replace the ODS/pilot assembly). A damaged thermocouple or control valve could also be the problem, so replace them if necessary.

Why is there white powder residue forming within the burner box of my ReddyHeater BWH10NLMC-2 Heater?
    • J
      Juan ByrdSep 16, 2025
When heated, the vapors from furniture polish, wax, carpet cleaners, etc., turn into white powder residue. Turn the heater off when using furniture polish, wax, carpet cleaner, or similar products.

What to do if my ReddyHeater BWH10NLMC-2 Heater has a spark at ODS/pilot but no ignition when ignitor button is pressed?
    • D
      David Rivera MDSep 15, 2025
If there is a spark at the ODS/pilot but no ignition when the ignitor button is pressed, it could be due to several reasons. Ensure the gas supply is turned on and the equipment shutoff valve is open. Make sure the control knob is fully pressed in while pressing the ignitor button. If there is air in the gas lines, continue holding down the control knob and repeat the igniting operation until the air is removed. The ODS/pilot may be clogged; clean or replace the ODS/pilot assembly. Incorrect inlet gas pressure or a damaged inlet regulator setting can also cause this; check the inlet gas pressure or replace the inlet gas regulator. Verify the control knob is in the PILOT position. Finally, if you are using propane, the gas supply may be depleted; contact your local propane/LP gas company.

What does it mean if there's slight smoke or odor during initial operation of my ReddyHeater BWH10NLMC-2 Heater?
    • W

What to do if my ReddyHeater BWH10NLMC-2 Heater has no spark at the ODS/pilot when the ignitor button is pressed?
    • P
      Paul BrockSep 12, 2025
If there is no spark at the ODS/pilot when the ignitor button is pressed, several issues could be the cause. The ignitor electrode may be positioned wrong or broken, in which case, replace the electrode. The ignitor electrode might not be connected to the ignitor cable, so replace the ignitor cable. The ignitor cable could be pinched or wet; free the ignitor cable if it is pinched and keep it dry. A broken ignitor cable will also cause this, so replace the ignitor cable. Lastly, a bad piezo ignitor can be the problem, so replace the piezo ignitor.

What causes delayed ignition of burner(s) in my ReddyHeater BWH10NLMC-2?
    • L
      laura91Sep 9, 2025
Delayed ignition of the burner(s) can be caused by manifold pressure that is too low. Contact your local gas supplier. Another cause can be a clogged burner orifice, so clean the burner.

Why does my ReddyHeater BWH10NLMC-2 Heater produce a clicking/ticking noise after the burner is lit or shut off?
    • C
      Christopher FloresSep 7, 2025
A clicking or ticking noise just after the burner is lit or shut off is often because metal is expanding while heating or contracting while cooling. This is common with most heaters. If the noise is excessive, contact a qualified service technician.

What to do if my ReddyHeater BWH10NLMC-2 pilot will not light when using natural gas?
    • E
      Elizabeth ReynoldsSep 5, 2025
If you are using natural gas and the pilot will not light, it may be because the inlet pressure exceeds 9.5" WC. Bypass the pressure switch.

Why does my ReddyHeater BWH10NLMC-2 smell like gas during combustion?
    • H
      hbanksAug 21, 2025
A gas odor during combustion may be due to foreign matter between the control valve and burner. In this case, take apart the gas tubing and remove any foreign matter. It can also be caused by a gas leak, so locate and correct all leaks.
