What to do if my Redlion Water Pump will not pump?
    • R
      rhondahartAug 13, 2025
If your Redlion Water Pump isn't pumping, several issues could be the cause. First, check for air leaks in the suction hose, ensuring it's double-clamped at joints, the clamps are tight, the fittings have thread compound and are tight, and the hose has no nicks or cuts. Also, verify that the suction and/or discharge hoses aren't blocked, and the valves are in good working order. Ensure the end of the suction hose is fully submerged. Finally, the total head might be too high; try reducing it or using a pump designed for higher heads.

      andreajacksonAug 17, 2025
If your Redlion Water Pump won't start, begin by checking the fuel level and adding fuel as per the engine manufacturer’s instructions. Next, inspect the spark plug and replace it if faulty. Ensure the fuel valve lever and the ignition switch are in the ON position. Lastly, verify that the choke is in the START position.

Why does my Redlion 2RLAG-1L Water Pump start, but run roughly?
    • C
      Christina HodgesAug 28, 2025
If your Redlion Water Pump starts but runs roughly, it could be due to several reasons. Ensure the choke lever is in the RUN position. Check that the spark plug wire is securely attached. A faulty spark plug could also be the issue, so consider replacing it. Contaminated fuel (with water or debris) can cause rough running; in this case, allow the engine to cool, drain the fuel tank and carburetor, and refill with fresh fuel. Finally, check the oil level and add oil as needed according to the engine manufacturer’s instructions.

    • G
      Gloria JeffersonSep 1, 2025
Your Redlion Water Pump might shut down during operation due to either a lack of fuel or a low oil level. Add fuel or oil according to the engine manufacturer’s instructions.

Why Redlion Water Pump does not perform as well as it should?
    • T
      Tommy OrozcoSep 4, 2025
If your Redlion Water Pump isn't performing as expected, several factors could be responsible. Check for debris buildup, faulty or semi-open valves, or a pipe/hose that's smaller than the pump's thread sizes. Clean the hoses and fittings, ensure the valves are in good working order, and increase the hose/pipe size to reduce friction losses. Also, make sure the end of the suction hose is submerged. An excessively worn impeller or a damaged seal could also be the cause, requiring replacement. Inspect the suction hose for air pockets or leaks, and clean out a clogged impeller if necessary. Lastly, confirm the engine throttle is in the FAST position.

Why is priming taking a long time on my Redlion Water Pump?
    • F
      fergusonrandySep 9, 2025
Priming may take a long time if the suction hose is quite long. Also, check the hose for loose connections that may cause air pockets or leaks in the suction hose. For optimal pump placement, refer to the PUMP PLACEMENT section.
