  If your Redlion Water Pump won't pump, there might be an air leak in the suction hose. Ensure the suction hose is double clamped at joints, the clamps are tight, the fittings have thread compound and are tight, and there are no nicks or cuts in the hose. Also, check that the suction and/or discharge hoses aren't blocked, and the valves are in good working order. Make sure the end of the suction hose is submerged. If the total head is too high, reduce it or use a higher head pump.

  If your Redlion Water Pump starts but runs roughly, ensure the choke lever is in the RUN position. Securely attach the spark plug wire to the spark plug. If the spark plug is faulty, replace it. If the fuel is contaminated, allow the engine to cool, then drain the fuel tank and carburetor and fill the tank with fresh fuel. If the oil level is low, add oil per the engine manufacturer’s instructions.

  If your Redlion Water Pump does not perform as well as it should, clean the hoses and fittings if flow is restricted due to debris build-up. Check that the valves are in good working order if they are faulty or semi-open. Increase the size of the hose or pipe to reduce friction losses if the pipe or hose used is smaller than the thread sizes on the pump. Ensure the end of the suction hose is submerged. Replace the impeller if it is excessively worn. Replace the seal if it is damaged. Check the hose for loose connections if there are air pockets or leaks in the suction hose. Remove the casing to clean out a clogged impeller. Move the throttle to the FAST position if the engine throttle is in SLOW position.
