Area Code into Memory
If your local telephone company does not deliver the area code
with a local number’s caller ID information, it is not necessary to
program this feature.
The area code is programmed into memory to allow the
telephone to recognize the local
area code. When this number is
programmed, the area code will
not be dialed when using the call
back feature to call back a
person within the same local
calling area.
Note: Programming should be performed with the telephone on-
hook
1 Press the DIRECTORY / STORE key (located on the top side of
the base) until ENTER AREA CODE is displayed on the LCD
screen.
2 Enter the area code number of your location using the
numeric dial pad. Do not enter a ‘1’ as the first digit.
3 Press the DIRECTORY / STORE key again and the screen will go
back to its normal position after a 15 second delay.

4 Press the DIRECTORY / STORE key. The LCD will display a
number along with a memory
location (Figure 2). Use the UP /
DOWN key to change the
memory location to the desired
memory location (Figure 3).
(MEM 1, MEM2, … MEM10)
5 Press the DIRECTORY / STORE key to store the name and
number.
To program additional numbers,
repeat steps 2 thru 5.
Reviewing information in memory
To review a name and number that is already programmed into
a speed dial location:
1 To select a memory location, press the DIRECTORY / STORE
key. The LCD will display the
following (MEM1: NAME): (Figure
4). Use the UP / DOWN key to find
the desired memory location
(MEM1, MEM2 . . .MEM10)
2 To exit, simply lift the handset,
then hang up.
