QUICKSHIFT GEARBOX (continued)
Semi-automatic mode operation
using the paddles 6
You may change gear yourself using
the paddles.
To change up a gear pull the
right-hand switch towards you
without necessarily releasing the
accelerator pedal.
To change down a gear pull the
left-hand switch towards you
without necessarily releasing the
accelerator pedal .
The system will not tolerate a series
of up or down changes that cause
the engine to underrev or overrev.
Pulling the right-hand switch
towards you twice allows you to
change up two gears (unless this
risks underrevving). Pulling the
left-hand switch towards you twice
allowsyoutochangedowntwo
gears (unless this risks overrevving).
When decelerating with the foot off
the pedal, the gears will
automatically drop to the low speed
limit to avoid stalling. First gear
automatically passes below a
certain speed limit. It is possible to
keep the vehicle stationary (stop,
red light, etc.) by depressing the
brake pedal without shifting to
neutral N.
The vehicle will move off again:
- either slowly, if you release the
brake without accelerating (e.g.
when in a traffic jam),
- or quickly, if you release the brake
and accelerate.
Note: neutral and reverse gears are
not accessible using the paddles.
Neutral and reverse gears may only
be accessed using the selector lever.
If the engine speed is too high or too
low, the system will choose the
optimum gear.
