3. After the pump assembly is securely
attached to the drain, the shut-off valve
should be installed to the outlet of the
pump and turned to the closed position.
Without this shut-off valve, the pump
will leak through the pump outlet.
Connect a standard size garden hose
(not included), up to 50 feet in length, to
the outlet end of the shut-off valve.
Longer lengths will cause reduced per-
formance of the pump.
