Measurement Settings
Meas
VNA provides measurement for S11, S12, and DTF. Press Meas to enter the
measurement setting menu. You can also tap the function keypad at the top of the
screen to select Meas.
Under the Meas menu, three measurement items are available: S11, S21, and DTF.
S11
Provides the reflection measurement for measuring the amount of RF power that is
being reflected from the connected DUT port. The measurement shows the ratio of
the reflected power to the stimulus signal over the frequency range you select.
S21
Provides the transmission measurement, measures the variation coefficient of the
signal that passes through the DUT in forward direction (from port 1 to port 2). It is
therefore an indicator of showing how much loss or gain is caused by the DUT.
DTF
DTF (Distance to Fault) provides measurement for determining the exact location of
possible faults in a transmission system.
S11 Meas Setup
Avg Number
Specifies the number of counts (N) for Average, Max Hold, and Min Hold.
It is valid when Trace Type is "Average". The greater the value of N, the smoother the
trace is displayed.
In Average, Max Hold, and Min Hold modes, when performing the single
measurement, the instrument stops sweeping after the sweep count has reached N.
