Tap Mode
Tap Mode is a unique play mode that triggers synthesizer notes when a string touches a
fret.
•
Enter Tap Mode by pressing the Mode Button (1).
•
Exit Tap Mode by again pressing the Mode Button.
• In Tap Mode, synthesizer notes are triggered when a string touches a fret.
•
Tap Mode is fully polyphonic. play up to 6 strings simultaneously.
•
TAP Mode is velocity sensitive. Tapping harder or softer gives a louder or quieter synthesizer note.
Tap Mode is fast and accurate but requires practice. Accidentally touching strings against frets will also trigger notes.
With practice, it is a unique experience that allows you to play at lightning speed.
Tap Mode
• Tap Mode ON: Tapping a string against a fret triggers synthesizer notes.
• Tap Mode OFF: Tapping a string against a fret does not trigger synthesizer notes.
Threshold
The Threshold refers to the minimum force of tap required to trigger synthesizer notes. This can be adjusted to suit your playing style and synthesizer
sound.
• 0 A force is not required, just contacting the string against the fret triggers a note
• 1+ A force is required, not tapping hard enough will not trigger a note.
Latency
Tap Latency slows down the MIDI signal sent to the synthesizer allowing the system time to decide if the note was played intentionally or not.
This can eliminate false notes. The lower the latency the more accurate the player must strike the note.
• If Tap latency is set too low, you may accidentally play undesired notes.
• If Tap latency is set too high, you may notice a delay in the notes sounding.
Gain
With Gain, you can adjust how loud the note sounds
•
Increasing Tap Gain will increase the note loudness.
•
Decreasing Tap Gain will decrease the note loudness.
Velocity Curves
With Velocity curves, you can adjust how loud your synthesizer note sounds relative to the force used to tap the string. See Velocity Curves section in Pick
Mode to learn more.
