First-time use
Before using the appliance for the

If the package is incomplete or there is any

in transit, report the details immediately to
the carrier, the insurer or the supplier. If pos-
sible, keep the original packing for the dura-
tion of the appliance guarantee period in or-
der to be able to pack the appliance again
properly if you need to make a claim.
Setting up
The following points are fundamental requi-
rements for safe operation:

l The appliance must not be operated on
surfaces that contain iron or steel as
such surfaces could become very hot.
l Choose a location for the appliance
where children cannot reach the hot
surface of the appliance.
l The appliance is not intended to be built
in.
l Do not set up the appliance in a hot,
wet or very damp environment or near
to combustible materials.
l Do not set up the appliance near to ap

l To function properly, the appliance re-
quires adequate air circulation. When
setting it up, allow 10cm clearance on
all sides.
l The cooling air is drawn in through the
bottom of the appliance. Do not cover
over or block any air vents on the appli-
ance.
l The mains power socket must be easily
accessible so that the mains lead can be
easily unplugged if necessary.
l Setting up the appliance in mobile loca-
tions (e.g. on board a ship) may only be
