ABOUT THESE INSTRUCTIONS
These instructions contain important information on the safe
and appropriate installation and use of the BG maintenance
unit.
• Please read these instructions before installing the BG
maintenance unit.
• Please store the instructions so that they are accessible
to all users.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The compatibility of pneumatic equipment is the responsibil-
ity of the designer of the pneumatic system or who decides
its specications. Since the products specied here are used
in various operating conditions, their compatibility for the
specic pneumatic system must be based on specications
or after analysis and/or tests to meet your specic require-
ments.
USE AS DIRECTED
Use the maintenance unit only for servicing compressed air
systems in commercial applications.
The intended use of the maintenance unit also requires you to
• comply with these instructions,
• comply with all accompanying documents,
• comply with national accident prevention regulations at
the site.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Installation and maintenance
Assembly and initial start-up require basic electrical and
pneumatic knowledge, as well as knowledge of the appropri-
ate technical terms. Assembly and commissioning may there-
fore only be carried out by qualied electrical or pneumatic
personnel or an instructed person under the direction and
supervision of qualied personnel.
Disconnect the power supply (if required) and the com-
pressed air supply before installation, maintenance, or con-
version.
Then relieve all compressed air connections on this product.
After installation, maintenance, or conversion, the com-
pressed air and power supplies (if required) must be recon-
nected to the product. The product then needs to be tested
for leaks and proper functioning. If the product leaks or mal-
functions, the product cannot be operated.
Warnings and specications on the product should not be
covered by paint etc. And should remain legible at all times.
OPERATION
The maintenance unit can be operated only within the spec-
ications provided for it. Specications can be found at the
end of these instructions as well as in additional product in-
formation documents.
The maintenance unit was developed and tested exclusively
for operation with clean, dry, and chemical additives and
unladen compressed air. Operating with media or additives
other than those specied by the manufacturer is not permis-
sible and requires the agreement of the manufacturer.
The maintenance unit must not be operated in aggressive
ambient air (e.g. solvent vapors).
The maintenance unit must be checked daily for tears,
cracks, deformations, or other damages. If a product has
been damaged, do not operate the system. If it is already in
operation, halt it immediately and exchange the damaged
product.
Dirt must not be allowed to accumulate on or in lters, bowls,
or observation windows. Replace bowl if dirt near drain can-
not be removed (may obstruct drain).
Residual pressure may remain on secondary side of regu-
lators when supply is removed. This condition will enable
equipment to operate unless system is designed to relieve
(exhaust) this pressure; i.e. designer should add compo-
nents that will exhaust secondary side when supply is re-
moved
STRUCTURE OF SAFETY NOTES
The safety instructions provided here are based on the follo-
wing principle:
SIGNAL WORD (e.g. CAUTION)
Type/source of risk!
Consequences!
Precautions
WARNING
Indicates a potentially hazardous situatioin which, if not
avoided, could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury or damage
to equipment.
