A dirty air filter can also cause this issue, so try cleaning it. Ensure that all doors and windows are closed to prevent outside air from affecting the unit's performance. Check the outdoor unit to see if the air inlet or outlet is blocked; if so, remove the obstruction and restart the unit. Also, the compressor might be in a 3-minute protection mode, so simply wait it out.
