INFLATABLE KAYAK LAGO
9. TROUBLESHOOTING
If your boat seems a little soft to you, it is not necessarily because of a leak. If you inflated your boat during
the day to an ambient temperature of 32°C (90°F), the temperature may have dropped to 25°C (77°F) in the
evening. The colder air then exerts less pressure on the hull and can appear softer the next morning.
If there has been no temperature change, you must start looking for the leak :
Inspect your boat closely. Turn it over and check the bottom carefully.
This allows a significant leak to be detected.
If you have any idea where the leak is, spray this area with soapy water from a spray bottle. A leak
will produce bubbles.
Check the valves, if necessary, spray soapy water around and on the base of the valves.
10. REPAIRS
By using it, you can occasionally puncture your boat. Most leaks are repaired within minutes. Your boat is
delivered with a repair kit, it is possible to recommend some by contacting your dealer.
Start by locating the leak; the presence of bubbles on the soapy water will tell you the leak. Clean the
surface around the leak thoroughly.
Cut a piece of the repair kit wide enough to cover the damaged area by about 1.5 cm. Finish at the edges
and place the patch on the damaged area and press firmly. You may use a weight to hold the patch in place.
Do not inflate the boat within 30 minutes of repair.
Small repairs
Your boat is delivered as standard with a repair kit. If you no longer have your repair kit, you can always
order one from your dealer. Cut a piece of patch wide enough to cover the damaged area with 12 mm more
than the edges. Round the edges of the patch. Apply the glue under the patch and on the surface to be
repaired. Do not apply too much glue as this may interfere with the repair. Wait between 2 and 4 minutes
and then place the patch on the damaged surface.
Use a weight to apply a pressure of about 2 to 3 kg for 12 hours. Once the patch is dry, apply glue all around
to seal it (dry in 4 hours).
