USER MANUAL
11. TRANSPORT
The most compact and safe way to transport your kayak is to deflate it and place it in the bag provided with
it. Be sure to follow the instructions for folding in this manual.
The RTM LAGO kayak can also be carried on the roof of the car. To do this, roof racks must be installed.
Several solutions exist: with fixing accessories (bers or supports) or without.
To secure the boat to the car, straps are passed through the car’s doors and also connect the front and rear
bumpers to the kayak. Do not over tighten it as this may damage the roof of the car. Consult the car manual
before installing any roof rack system to ensure compliance with the manufacturer’s recommendations,
precautions and specifications.
Attaching the front and rear of the boat to each bumper is essential. If your bumpers do not have devices
for this, use the tow hooks below on the chassis.
You can also use the drainage holes to attach the boat to the car. This prevents the kayak from shaving to
the right or left and also prevents the straps from slipping on the boat. (This is an acceptable method for
transport only.)
IMPORTANT NOTICE: When the kayak is attached to the roof of the car, a decrease in air pressure in the
tubes would have the same effect as if the straps were released. Make sure the kayak is attached in such
a way that if it loses air, it cannot move.
• Repairs should be carried out in a ventilated area.
• Avoid inhaling the glue vapours or ingesting it.
• Avoid contact of the glue with the skin or eyes.
• Keep all repair equipment out of reach of children.
• Under no circumstances should damage to the welds be repaired with glue. Only the kayak
manufacturer is authorized to carry out repairs on the welds.
