REPLACEMENT PARTS AND ACCESSORIES
Damage to the internal components
of the pulley and shortening of the service life
may be caused by excessive belt tension!
> Do not exceed the maximum permissible belt
tension.
> Equip the Drum Motor with a friction lining to
keep the belt tension to a minimum.
Belt pull
The maximum belt pull of each Drum Motor type is
specied in our catalogue.
Frequency Converter
Standard Drum Motors can be operated in a
frequency range between 20 Hz and 60 Hz. Any
loss of torque is generally not more than 5%.
> Do not operate the motor in any other frequency
range.
> Select and set the frequency converter
according to the full-load amperage given on the
Pulley data plate.
> To avoid interference, only install shielded cables
during installation/assembly.
To prevent malfunctions, screen and properly x
the motor cables from the motor to the frequency
inverter in accordance with the European Directive
for „Electromagnetic Compatibility” EMV
- 2014/30/EU
Damage may be caused to the motor
insulation due to rapid voltage increases in the
motor cable! Apply one of the two solutions
below to prevent this:
> Assemble a motor lter to the output of the
frequency inverter or
> Limit the distance between the frequency
converter and the motor.
(A cable length of 10 m or less is
recommended.)
Capacitors
• Drum Motor types 80LP-138LP: run capacitors
are not supplied with motor (can be purchased
separately).
• Each single-phase motor requires an
appropriate operating capacitor.
Starting torque = 70 %
Adding a starting capacitor: starting torque = up
to 100%.
> Contact RULMECA for more information.
> Only use capacitors specied by RULMECA.
Operation:
> Permanently connect the capacitor to the motor,
as shown in the wiring diagram.
> Only operate the single-phase motor together
with a capacitor.
Disposal
The operator is responsible for the disposal of the
LP drum motor.
Local regulations must be observed for the
disposal of the drum motor and its packaging.
