Why Ryobi RCP254 engine fails to start?
- MMark PattersonAug 2, 2025
Your Ryobi Lawn and Garden Equipment engine might fail to start due to several reasons. First, ensure the engine switch is in the start position. If not, move it to start. Another reason could be an empty fuel tank, so fill the tank. Also, a shorted or fouled spark plug can prevent starting, so replace the spark plug. A broken spark plug (cracked porcelain or broken electrodes) will also prevent the engine from starting; replace it. Check if the ignition lead wire is shorted, broken, or disconnected from the spark plug; replace the lead wire or reattach it to the spark plug. If the ignition is inoperative, it is best to contact an authorized service center.
