      If the cutting line on your Ryobi Trimmer won't advance when using bump feed action: 1. Lubricate with silicone spray. 2. Install more line. 3. Pull the line while alternately pressing down on and releasing the retaining cap. 4. Remove the line from the spool and rewind it. 5. Advance the line at full throttle. 6. Ensure the writing on the line spool is facing the correct way; THIS SIDE OUT FOR CURVED SHAFT.

      The Ryobi Trimmer engine might not start due to several reasons: * The switch is set to the O (OFF) position: Set the switch to the I (ON) position. * There's no spark: Remove the spark plug, reattach the cap, lay it on the metal cylinder, and pull the starter cord to check for a spark. If none, repeat with a new spark plug. * There's no fuel: Push the primer bulb until it's full of fuel. If it doesn't fill, the primary fuel delivery system is blocked. If it fills, the engine may be flooded. * The engine is flooded: Turn the switch to “O” (off), remove the spark plug, aim the spark plug hole at the ground, ensure the choke lever is set to , and pull the starter cord 10 to 14 times to clear excess fuel.
