  The Ryobi Trimmer engine might not start due to several reasons: the power switch may be off (ensure it is in the ON or “I” position), there may be no spark (inspect the spark plug for damage and replace if necessary), there may be no fuel (push the primer bulb until full; if it doesn't fill, contact a servicing dealer), the engine could be flooded (remove the spark plug and clear excess fuel), or the fuel may be old (use fresh fuel mixed with the recommended oil).
