Why won't my Ryobi Tiller start?

  If your Ryobi Tiller engine won't start, it could be due to several reasons. First, check if the engine switch is in the off position and move it to start. Another reason could be that there is no fuel in the tank, so you should fill the tank. The spark plug might also be shorted or fouled, in which case you should replace it. Also, a broken spark plug (cracked porcelain or broken electrodes) can prevent the engine from starting, so you should replace the spark plug. Finally, the ignition lead wire might be shorted, broken, or disconnected from the spark plug, so you should replace the lead wire or attach it to the spark plug.

  If your Ryobi Tiller engine is hard to start, it could be due to water in the gasoline or a stale fuel mixture. In this case, drain the entire system and refill it with fresh fuel. It could also be due to too much oil in the fuel mixture; drain and refill with the correct mixture. The engine might also be under or over choked, so adjust the choke as necessary.
