TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSES WHAT TO DO
No crema
Coee is not tamped rmly
enough
Refer to ‘Coee Dose &
Tamping’ on page 7.
Coee grind is too coarse Ensure you use a suitable
espresso grind. Refer to
’Extraction Guide’ on page 8.
Ground coee is not fresh Change to freshly
roasted beans.
Filter holes are blocked Use the ne pin on the
cleaning tool to clear the
holes. Refer to ‘Cleaning The
Steam Wand’ on page 11.
Machine is making
pulsing / pumping sound
while extracting coee or
steaming milk
The machine is carrying out
the normal operation of the
15 bar Italian pump
No action required as this is
the normal operation
of the machine.
Coee runs out around the
edge of the portalter
Portalter is not inserted into
the group head properly
Insert portalter into the
group head and align with
‘LOCK’ on the group head
collar, until resistance is felt.
There are coee grounds
around the lter basket rim
Clean any excess ground
coee from the rim of the lter
basket to ensure a proper t
into the group head.
Too much ground coee in
the lter basket
Refer to ‘Coee Dose &
Tamping’ on page 7.
Ground coee has been
tamped too rmly
Refer to ‘Coee Dose &
Tamping’ on page 7.
Incorrect lter for amount of
ground coee used
Ensure you use the 1 CUP
lter for 1 cup of coee and
the 2 CUP lter for 2 cups
of coee.
