SAIPA 141 / Maintaining and repairing manual Body and trimming
Brass weld (acetylene weld):
This type works with a brass bar which is
melt by heat. This type is used for the parts
which are less exposed. The advantage of
this type is its resistance and availability.
2- Weld:
CO2 welding mechanism is much like elec-
tric arc welding, just there is a different
point, to prevent oxidation while welding,
the CO2 gas is used. We use this type for
body part assembly where more resistance
is needed, and also for the parts that spot
welding causes damages on the external
surface of parts.
Welding types used in repairing and
body assembly
1- Spot welding:
In this method a big amount of current is
passed from 2 plates which are on the oth-
er, and the electrons moving causes con-
nection and joining between plates. This
type is used in body assembly line. Pay at-
tention to regulate the current amount re-
garding to the plates, since the low current
may cause lack of welding between plates
and the high current may cause plates per-
foration. Pay attention that in this type of
welding, if the spot welding is increased
more than the standard amount, the plates
resistance may decrease.
