Getting started
1 While the keyboard is displayed, touch and hold the
character entry field.
2 "Input method".
3 Tap a input mode you want to use.
In Samsung Japanese keypad, you can use 2 types of keyboards:
"QWERTY" and "3x4 key".
• QWERTY: it is a keyboard similar to the one of PC. Enter Japanese in
Roman character.
• 3x4 key: it is a keyboard similar to a general mobile phone keyboard (for
multi-tap method).Tap a key assigned character you want to enter several
times until the target character is entered.
a Display predictive options/usual conversion options. Tap an option to enter text.
• When the predictive conversion is set to OFF, if "Conv." is tapped while the
predictive options is displayed, usual conversion options appear.
• Tap to display predictive options/usual conversion options in full screen.
Tap to return the previous display.
b Delete characters or symbols to the left of the cursor.
c Hide the keyboard. To display it again, tap the character entry part on the display.
d Switch character input mode (P.40).
e Display Emoji/Symbol/Emoticon list.
• Tap the tab to switch lists.
• Tap " 文字 (Characters)" to display the keypad.
• Tap to enter characters by voice input.
f Move the cursor to the left.
g Display usual conversion options.
• When is displayed, tap it to insert a space.
h Move the cursor to the right.
• Tap to enter characters assigned to the same key consecutively etc.
• When Wildcard Prediction is set to ON, wildcard prediction can be used
(P.40) by tapping.
i Confirm entered characters.
• When is displayed, tap it to insert a line feed.
• When "Next" appears, tap to move the cursor to the next entry field.
Switching the type of the keyboard (input method)
Information
• To specify a keyboard type displayed when you tap the character entry
field, from the Home screen,
Ww ➝ "Settings" ➝ "Locale and text" ➝
"Select input method".
