Using the flash popup button
The flash operates when the built-in flash is opened by
using the flash button. When the flash is closed, it will
not burst out the light and the
, , , and
modes support automatic popup and flash light.

In Shooting mode, press [ ].

Align your subject in the frame and half-
press [Shutter] to focus.

Press [Shutter] to take a photo.
• Even in the case that the built-in flash is
already popped out by using the 'Flash'
button, the bursting function is not
supported when the flash option of menu
is set to Off.
Setting the flash option
If a picture is taken in a dark place, the picture may
appear to be dark since the light source is not sufficient.
Press [
] to pop up the flash.

Smart Flash
The amount of flash light is adjusted automatically
according to the exposure in the surrounding environment.
Auto
The flash light operates automatica ly in the dark place.
Auto+Red
The flash light operates automatica ly and prevents the
red-eye effect.
Fill in
• Always operates the flash light.
• The brightness of flash light is automatically controlled.
Fi l-in Red
Always operates the flash light, and prevents the red-eye
effect.
1st Curtain
Operates the flash light immediately after the opening
of shutter
2nd Curtain
Operates the flash light just before the closing of shutter
• The picture can be taken better if the subject is
located within the applicable range of flash.
(Refer to the Guide No in “Specification.”)
• You can set the auto flash option only with the
external flash for exclusive use by the NX-series
model.
• The available flash options are different
depending on the shooting modes.
